Creative Non-fiction: Creative Fiction can be a confusing concept - many think of it as a licence to embroider the truth so heavily with fiction that the facts are lost in the process. Creative non-fiction is a way of presenting a true story or essay based on fact in a creative way. It is factual writing using the voice, eye and sensibility of the novelist but adhering to the truth as far as it can be understood. This presentation will provide a brief history, demonstrate the tools (and tricks) of the Creative Non-fiction writer and encourage anyone who wants to lift their non-fiction writing to the next level to try it out. Some handouts provided.
